The SnapEngage gateways are all operational and back up and running. We are investigating the long term sustainability of this solution…

We found a solution to re-establish the communication between the latest version of Skype and SnapEngage. Our team is currently reconfiguring the integration gateway servers. Skype for SnapEngage should be back up and running shortly.
Thank you for your patience.

Live chat agents cannot use Skype anymore.
As of this morning, Microsoft terminated the support for older versions of Skype, which is what SnapEngage is using to communicate with Skype. As a result, the SnapEngage Skype integration doesn’t work anymore.

In November 2013 Microsoft announced that they will shutdown the Skype APIs used by application such as SnapEngage to communicate with Skype.
See announcement: SnapEngage Skype Integration: Potential Shutdown Announcement
After the announcement we advised our customer to migrate to the chat portal instead but the integration was still working as usual.

Unfortunately as of this morning, SnapEngage Skype gateways are not able to connect to the Skype network anymore. We are currently investigating different technical solutions in order to re-establish connectivity to Skype. However since Microsoft doesn’t support this type of connectivity we are not very hopeful.

We strongly suggest that you migrate to the SnapEngage Chat Portal instead of Skype in order to provide chat service to your customer.
Simply follow these steps to use the Chat Portal.

Please come chat with us or give us a call if there is anything we can do to help.
